What our clients say

«We use eRET successfully both for the top-down assessment of resident physicians and for bottom-up feedback to specialist physicians. The structured, anonymous feedback provides a valuable basis for performance reviews, mentoring, and ongoing personal and professional development. eRET is a very helpful tool for us that meaningfully supports and objectifies the 360-degree feedback process.»

Prof. Dr. med. Michael Ganter Head of Institute / Chief Physician, Institute of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine
Hirslanden AG, Klinik Hirslanden, Zürich

«The Department of Anaesthesia at Kantonsspital Baden has been using eRET for several years for the 360-degree assessment of our resident physicians. Attending physicians and nursing staff can easily evaluate our physicians in training. eRET also offers a good way to carry out workplace-based assessments, which are essential for specialist training. We are very satisfied with ProtecData's product. In case of issues, the company's competent support is available at any time.»

How it works

Plan, conduct and evaluate the entire assessment process

With RET, you plan the entire assessment process flexibly according to your needs: from the invitation through rating and evaluation to the closing discussion with the person receiving feedback. The moderator responsible for RET always retains an overview.

1

Dashboard shows what's due

After the initial configuration of your instance, the dashboard shows the moderator which assessment is due next according to the development and training plan, and which are already underway.

2

Manage assessments

Via the launch dashboard, the moderator starts new assessments, postpones or cancels them. Invitations are sent automatically by email, with reminders if needed.

3

Complete open to-dos

On «My dashboard», both feedback-givers and feedback-recipients see their open to-dos – assessing others or evaluating themselves.

4

Assess online

The questionnaire can be displayed in two views and is filled in directly online – structured according to the chosen scale, with free text.

5

Evaluate & release

The moderator closes the rating – manually or automatically after the expiry date – and releases the report. Tutors and authorised persons can then view it, and it also appears in «My portfolio».

6

Conduct closing discussion

A discussion can be organised for the milestone: based on the report, the tutor and the person receiving feedback discuss the results and record the next development steps.

Dashboard & Timeline

Everything in view, nothing forgotten

On the dashboard, the moderator can see at any time which assessments are due according to the milestone. Each person's timeline shows open and completed to-dos at a glance. Overdue ratings can be followed up with one click via reminder.

Multiple perspectives

Feedback from different perspectives

For each questionnaire, it is defined who assesses – automatically pre-configured or individually added. This creates a picture from multiple perspectives, complemented by self-assessment. Assessment is structured according to the chosen scale, with free-text comments and additional information for each question.

Frequently asked questions

What you'd like to know about ISMed-RET

ISMed-RET (Resident Evaluation Tool) is a web-based tool for the structured, regular assessment of physicians' performance and competencies – supporting the professional development of physicians at all levels. Assessments are gathered from different perspectives, recorded in a structured way, and made available online as a report once completed.

As soon as an assessment is due according to the milestone, the moderator starts the assessment. The assessing persons automatically receive an invitation by email and complete the questionnaire online via a direct link. Reminders can be sent again if needed. Once completed, the report is available to all authorised persons.

For hospitals and accredited training institutions that want to support and document the competency development of their medical trainees in a structured way – independent of specialty.

The assessment is structured using a freely selectable scale – for example 3-, 4-, 5- or 10-point. The levels can be labelled individually, such as 1–5, 5–1, A–E or E–A, depending on your institution's needs. Each question is supplemented with free-text comments and optional additional information. Built-in validation ensures that only fully completed questionnaires can be submitted.
